Last week our Coventry team celebrated the 8th Annual Habitat Day in the Capital Region with some incredibly exciting news.
This year we are proud to be donating our first ever home to Habitat for Humanity! With construction scheduled to begin soon, we had the honor of officially announcing our partnership with Habitat for Humanity Edmonton at the annual luncheon hosted on Thursday, June 14.
Since 1991, Habitat for Humanity Edmonton has been serving the Capital Region as well as many communities across northern Alberta. This month Habitat will welcome their 600th family into a new home – an enormous achievement that couldn’t have been accomplished without the help wonderful volunteers and generous donations.
To date, homebuilders have gifted 31 homes to the worthy cause, and Coventry is now honored to be partnering with the organization to help more families reach the dream of home ownership. What makes Habitat for Humanity even more special is that the family chosen to receive a home is required to put in 500 hours of “sweat equity” towards their down of the new home – one of the reasons why Habitat considers the program a “hand up not hand out”.
Our beautiful Coventry home that will be donated to Habitat is our Ari duplex. At 1,382 sq.ft., this welcoming home features 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and an inviting open concept design. Perfect for young and growing families, this home includes a spacious U-shaped kitchen, a fireplace in the living room, and a convenient upper floor laundry. We’re sure our Ari will make for the perfect new home and can’t wait to hand over the keys to its deserving new owners!
Stay tuned, as we will be posting regular updates on the progress of our Habitat Home throughout the build! For more information about Habitat for Humanity visit their website. Contact Us or visit our showhomes for any questions about our Coventry Homes.
