Summer Activities In Edmonton For Kids

The countdown to summer is officially on! Only a few weeks of school are remaining, and that means a lot of kids in Edmonton will have plenty of free time on their hands.

To help keep our kids busy, our team did a little research to find some activities that will keep them entertained and happy during the next couple of months. Take a look at some of favourite options below!

Summer Science Camps at the Telus World of Science

Science camps at the TWOS have arrived – and already selling out! These multi-day events immerse kids in a full sensory experience that is sure to ignite their imagination. Enjoy themes like Dino Diggers where students will use paleontological skills to uncover dinosaur fossils, eggs, and bones; Science Wizardry that gives kids the chance to learn the secrets behind mysterious science experiments; and even a Gamecraft camp that offers gamers an opportunity to design and construct a video game using Scratch programming!  Edmonton Valley Zoo Summer Day Camps

 Calling all animal lovers! The Edmonton Valley Zoo is offering multiple summer camp activities for kids – each guaranteed to be full of some wild fun! Go behind the scenes to places where only zookeepers get access with the Junior Zookeeper Camp, follow the clues that will lead us to animal treasures with the Zoo Treasures Camp, plus so many more animal themed programs!  Summer Fun at WEM

 For the month of June, visit West Edmonton Mall for a variety of kid-friendly activities. From mermaid tales aboard the Santa Maria
 taking place every Monday from 10 a.m. to noon, to a kids’ terrarium workshop every Monday and Wednesday at 2 p.m. Check out the event listing page and calendar for all the details!

ArtBreak at the AGA

The Alberta Gallery of Art offers week long ArtBreak camps that cover a wide selection of creative and fun topics! Designed with students ages 6–12 in mind, these interactive summer day camps feature exciting themes, like print-making, up-cycling, and even an animation camp! Find out more here.

 Summer Starts at EPL

 Edmonton Public Libraries is launching their annual summer activity line-up on June 23rd. There are over 50 types of free programs happening at all 21 EPL locations, including Slime(y) Science, Superhero Academy, Coding for Kids, and so much more!
