Last Saturday our Coventry Homes team celebrated our partnership with the Edmonton Humane Society (EHS) at our 10th annual Paws and Claws Gala.
Our most exciting event of the year didn’t disappoint, as 400 guests joined us at the Northlands Expo Centre to support this worthy cause. Adding to the special 10-year anniversary event was the monumental fundraising milestone we achieved during the evening! With the help of generous donors and volunteers, we are proud to announce that we have surpassed one million dollarsraised over the last 10 years for the Edmonton Humane Society! The official number at the end of the night was an incredible $1,002,247 raised – and we cannot express our gratitude enough to everyone who helped our Coventry team reach this fundraising goal.
The Rolling Stones themed gala featured Graham Neil & Donovan Workun as the event’s outstanding MC’s. The hilarious duo kept the crowd entertained throughout the night and even took on the roles of auctioneers for our live auction. One of the most coveted items of the night was an Oilers VIP Experience, which included an Oilers pre-game practice viewing, a tour of Rogers Place, four Chairman’s Club tickets to the game, dinner, and a post-game on ice photo of the lucky group of four!
Providing some great tunes throughout the night were Hang Fire, one of Canada’s most celebrated Rolling Stones tribute acts featuring Paul Dasiuk! Plus, Mojave Iguanas, our nation’s premier party band kept the dance floor lively all night. The night’s great music and delicious food were accompanied by numerous ways to donate to the Edmonton Humane Society – a 50/50 raffle, an extensive silent auction, the Wish List donation drop, and the popular Adopt-a-Stuffie Raffle all made it easy for guests to support the EHS.
The Paws and Claws Gala also featured some furry guests of honor – adorable animals from the EHS that guests were able to spend time with throughout the night. The chance to meet some of the animals in need of a forever home shined the spotlight on just how important the EHS is in our community. Providing consistent and honorable advancements in animal welfare is what defines the EHS, and the funds raised by the Paws and Claws gala goes towards the enrichment of the programs and services they provide.
On behalf of our President and CEO, Henri Rodier, and our entire Coventry team, we would like to extend our heart-filled thanks to everyone who has helped and supported our fundraising efforts for the Edmonton Humane Society. We look forward to many more years of working with the EHS and helping animals in need.
